What is Silent Signal

The voice of students.
Backed by data.

Every year, universities promise their students community, growth, and support. Every year, the structure they've built makes those promises nearly impossible to keep. Silent Signal exists to make that gap visible — and impossible to ignore.

We built an anonymous 90-second check-in tool that captures student friction — not feelings, not diagnoses, but systemic barriers: workload, isolation, inaccessible resources, the quiet cost of just keeping up. Students submit signals. We aggregate them. The pattern becomes undeniable data.

Our AI doesn't just analyze — it reframes. When a student submits "I couldn't keep up," our system says: "79% of your peers reported the same thing this week. This is a structural problem, not a personal one." That distinction matters. It shifts shame into evidence.

Aggregated AI-generated reports are routed to student unions, campus newspapers, and faculty councils — the bodies with actual incentive to act. We believe in actionable data going to the people who will use it.

"Students aren't failing to thrive. They're succeeding at surviving a system that was never designed for them."

Generative AI — Best Use

AI that reframes, not diagnoses

Claude AI analyzes each submission in real time, generates a personalized systemic insight, and reframes personal struggle as institutional evidence — genuinely intelligent use of generative AI.

Sun Life — Mental Health

Population-level health monitoring

Silent Signal helps Canadians monitor mental health at scale through anonymous collective tracking — focusing on systemic prevention and pattern detection, not individual treatment.

Moorcheh — Semantic Memory

Context-aware pattern detection

Our semantic memory layer stores longitudinal signal patterns, enabling the AI to compare weeks, detect sustained trends, and surface insights that one-off surveys miss entirely.

Education AI — Best Use

Making universities learn

Silent Signal turns student experience into structured data that universities can actually act on — making education more responsive, personalized, and honest about its failures.

Google — Community Impact

Sustainability of the mind

Campus mental health infrastructure is a sustainability issue. Silent Signal creates the data layer needed for institutions to build healthier, more equitable environments — at scale.
